Celebrating the Gift of Connection
Last week, I sat down with Brian Kelly on the Moments Worth Remembering podcast to talk about the various ways to unlock one’s human factors.
Whatever those human factors might be. Whether it was empathy, resilience, compassion, or self-awareness.
As we continued our conversation, I couldn’t help but think of how Brian and I connected in the first place.
It was has been years since our paths first crossed.
All due to a mutual connection of ours, Kira Omans, sharing her adoption journey through Overcoming Odds.
Years later, I still remember our first conversation.
We discussed our backgrounds, our past experiences, and the ways in which we were actively working to make the world a better place.
Little did I know that this would turn into a multi year friendship.
As years have passed, Brian and I got to know each other on a deeper level.
He served on the board for Overcoming Odds.
He has been on multiple podcasts that I hosted.
He has helped make numerous introductions that helped me grow both personally and professionally.
Looking back on it all, I realize that Brian has been an incredible gift in my life.
His exceptional ability to listen to others. He approaches conversations with a level of self-awareness that is truly a joy to experience.
He chooses his words wisely. I've told him this many times, but it's worth repeating: he's one of the few people I know who intentionally picks his words before responding.
He possesses a unique talent for supporting others in discovering their own gifts and uniqueness. Much of this, I believe, comes from his ability to create an environment of openness and curiosity. Every time I speak with Brian, I feel heard, valued, and seen.
Today, I choose to celebrate you, Brian, for your continued impact in my life.
Thank you for your presence and wisdom.
Thank you for your commitment to support others.
Thank you for being YOU!
